How should Christians view AI in this day and age? For some, it’s just another tool. For others, it raises deeper questions—does it take away from what makes us human?
This week on The Great Stories Podcast, David Wollen sits down with musician Randall Goodgame to explore faith, technology, and what it means to follow Christ in an AI-driven world in the new episode: Randall Goodgame and a Christian Perspective on AI.

Every parent hopes to give their child something that will last long after childhood fades. Toys break, interests change, and even the memories of early years soften with time. Yet God’s Word remains steadfast, carrying a wisdom far greater than anything else we could give to our children or grandchildren.
When Scripture is planted deeply in a child’s heart, it becomes something they carry with them wherever they go. In moments of joy, it turns their hearts toward gratitude. In moments of fear or uncertainty, it reminds them they are not alone. And in seasons when faith feels fragile, those familiar words can quietly guide them back to the One who has been their Shepherd all the days of their lives.
The Bible points to this kind of faith formation. In Psalm 119:11 we read:
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” (NIV)
God’s Word is meant to dwell within us—shaping our thoughts, guiding our decisions, and anchoring our hearts in truth. For children especially, memorizing Scripture can become one of the simplest and most meaningful ways to begin that lifelong process.
Children are naturally gifted at memorization. They remember songs, stories, and phrases with surprising ease. Anyone who has watched a child repeat a favorite lyric or line from a story knows how quickly those words take root. When the words they learn are Scripture, the truths of God’s Word begin to shape the way they understand the world around them.
This is why Scripture encourages parents to pass God’s truth to the next generation. In Deuteronomy 6:6–7 we are told:
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.”
One of the most natural ways children learn—and remember—is through music. Songs have a remarkable ability to fix words in our memories. Many adults can still recall songs they learned decades earlier, even when other childhood memories have faded. When Scripture is paired with melody and repetition, those words often stay with children for years to come.
The beauty of memorizing Scripture is that its impact often unfolds slowly. A verse learned at the kitchen table may return years later in a difficult moment. A song sung before bedtime may echo in a heart during a season when faith feels distant. In ways we cannot always see, God continues to use His Word to guide and strengthen His people.
“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty.” Isaiah 55:11:(NIV)
Helping children memorize Scripture does not require elaborate plans or perfect routines. Often it begins with small and ordinary moments—reading a verse together, repeating God’s promises during prayer, or singing His Word throughout the day. These moments may seem simple, but over time they become seeds planted deeply in a child’s heart, reminding them again and again of the God who is always faithful.

When we celebrate Christmas, we usually concentrate on a very specific moment in time when a young married couple traveled to Bethlehem and delivered a child in a manger. But Christmas didn’t start there. We can trace the promises and events of our Savior’s arrival all the way back to the beginning of time.
On today’s episode of the Great Stories podcast, Charles Morris returns to a Christmas special from 2017 where he traced the line from Christmas to the very beginning in Genesis with special guests Lee Strobel (The Case for Christ), Sally Lloyd-Jones (The Jesus Storybook Bible), Randall Goodgame (Sing the Bible), and Senate Chaplain Barry Black (Nothing to Fear).

If you’ve been looking for a way for the children around you to memorize and even understand the Bible this Christmas, you don’t have to look any longer. Randall Goodgame, the singer-songwriter behind Slugs & Bugs, has come out with a Christmas album that’s totally based on God’s Word.
This album tells the truth of Scripture in a way that helps it stick in young hearts. With music inspired by “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” these songs were created so the truths of the Bible can resonate in young hearts, but that doesn’t mean it can’t work on the hearts of parents and grandparents, as well.
Here are a few songs from Randall Goodgame’s Sing the Bible Family Christmas that will help you and the kids in your life get in the Christ-centered Christmas spirit this year:
John 1:1-4, 14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was in the beginning with God.All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Luke 1:46-48
And Mary said,
“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;”

We believe music is one of the greatest tools God uses for children (and adults!) to worship and learn about Jesus. For Randall Goodgame, the singer-songwriter behind Sing the Bible Vol. 1 & 2 and everything Slugs & Bugs, this is exactly his mission as he seeks to profoundly impact the culture of the home with these Gospel-centered, silly, and extremely catchy songs.
Below are just a few of the songs from Randall’s recently released album called Sing the Gospel. As Randall puts it, we pray this music inspires you and your family to sing together, laugh together, and think deeply together about the meaning of life and the nature of God.
God Made Me
Stop (Listen to the Lord!)
I’m Adopted
Randall Goodgame’s desire is to help children of all ages understand the Gospel through songs that delightfully get stuck in your head. If you’ve been looking for a way to help the children in your life understand the Gospel better, then look no further. Sing the Gospel is exactly what you need.
Here’s Randall’s take on it: “The riches of the Gospel are immeasurable. We get to be in God’s family! We are transformed from within! Our sins are forgiven, our wounds are made beautiful, and our joy never ends. Last year, our friends at The Good Book Company in the U.K. requested that we curate a collection of the Slugs & Bugs songs that explore these different aspects of the Gospel, and the result became ‘Sing the Gospel’ – a Slugs and Bugs collection.”
