Christmas is one of the most anticipated times of the year. It’s also filled with a mix of tradition and spiritual truth. This can make it hard to tell Jesus from Santa Clause and the wise men from snow men.
There’s nothing wrong with roasted chestnuts, stockings, or even stories about flying reindeer. But I do believe it’s important to keep Christ at the forefront, and for each of us to consider what it really means for God to come down and dwell among us.
To help you do this, I want to share a video about what I’ve been reflecting on this Christmas season, how to explain Christmas to a child, to an adult, or even to just yourself.
I hope this short message serves as a blessing to you and a reminder that the Lord cares for you and me enough to send his only son to be born in a lowly manger so that we might be lifted up and be called friends of God.
And though December 25 is still a few weeks today, I’d like to get a head start in wishing you a merry Christmas!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
As the leader of the Haven Ministries, Charles Morris is always thinking of ways to lead Christians and non-Christians to Christ—hence the familiar slogan, “Telling the great story … it’s all about Jesus.” A former secular journalist, Charles has worked for United Press International, and as a press secretary for two former U.S. senators. He and his wife, Janet, have authored several books, including Missing Jesus. Charles’ latest book is Fleeing ISIS, Finding Jesus: The Real Story of God At Work.
At Haven Ministries, we seek to help others draw nearer to Jesus by faithfully providing hope and Christ-centered teaching throughout the U.S., Canada, and far-reaching corners of the globe. And it’s only through the prayers and support of friends like you that this crucial ministry can impact the lives of millions over the radio, online, and in print.
With the end of 2021 fast approaching, Haven needs to raise $567,785 by December 31 to finish strong and ready for the year ahead. If this ministry has been a blessing to you and you’d like it to continue being a blessing to others, would you make your year end gift today?
Thank you so much for your partnership and generosity at this critical time of year.
