“And he said: ‘I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’”

Matthew 18:3
A good coach is enormously important to a team’s success. Often the coach can see the big picture while the players cannot. In some ways, the coach is like a parent to an athlete, directing the program and monitoring each athlete’s progress. Listening to and following the instructions of a good coach can ensure the best chances of victory. But it takes a great deal of faith in the coach and the performance plan.

As believers, we have more than mere athlete’s trust in a coach when it comes to trusting our heavenly Father. The sovereign, all-knowing Creator of the universe is our all in all. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) And if we truly see God as loving and caring, we have confidence that He is working all things out for the good of us, His children. He is guiding us along the way even when everything seems to be going wrong.

Have you faced times when you simply cannot understand the details of God’s plan? Be assured that He is using the events of your life to train you in righteousness for His glory.
