Hiding Place

Corrie ten Boom and her family had been caught hiding Jews. Now in a cold Nazi prison cell, sick and in solitary confinement, Corrie had never felt so scared and alone.

Yet in that dark place she experienced the overwhelming power and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

You need to hear the words of this precious saint. Corrie’s story never fails to touch people in a unique and encouraging way, and the Lord has used it to lead many thousands to faith in Christ.

In honor of the 70th anniversary of Corrie ten Boom’s miraculous release from Ravensbruck concentration camp, we are devoting the next few days on HAVEN Today to remembering her amazing life and ministry.

And for a LIMITED TIME at HAVEN Today we are offering the movie The Hiding Place on DVD for a gift of any amount! This is a 2 DVD set that also includes three documentaries that Corrie ten Boom made in her 40+ years of ministry.

“There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.”

This is the phrase that Corrie ten Boom is most famous for speaking. These words have resonated with many because of the hope they convey to anyone who has experienced pain or loss. They have even more of an impact coming from Corrie because of the immense suffering she faced in Nazi concentration camps during World War II.

But these words weren’t originally spoken by Corrie. In Ravensbrück, a brutal death camp in the heart of Germany, her sister, Betsie, whispered this to Corrie just before dying from the extreme winter conditions: “We must tell them that there is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still. They will listen to us, Corrie, because we have been here.”

Corrie spent the next 33 years of her life telling her story to millions, conveying an unwavering message of hope in Jesus Christ. Even after her death in 1983, thousands have come to Christ after hearing her powerful testimony.

Through many years of speaking and writing, Corrie said much about the human condition and how God’s love overcomes all things:

“In darkness God’s truth shines most clear.”

“If God has shown us bad times ahead, it’s enough for me that He knows about them. That’s why He sometimes shows us things, you know – to tell us that this too is in His hands.”

Why have Corrie’s words made a significant impact on so many? Because the reality is that all of us will go through hard times, and to hear her testify of God’s presence during immense suffering shows us that He is truly never absent.

Christ is triumphant. He knows how we feel because He came 2,000 years ago to suffer and die for our sins. Today, He gives us the strength and hope we need to get through the hard times. Because we can’t do it alone.

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
Deuteronomy 31:8
