These words opened the very first Haven of Rest radio broadcast in March of 1934. A lot has happened since First Mate Bob and the Crew of the Good Ship Grace shared “words of life on the wings of melody.” Founded during the Great Depression, this radio ministry would go on to minster to countless lives throughout WWII, the moon landing, 9/11, and on through today. Even as new people would come and go, the world continued to change … but the all about Jesus message always stayed the same.

This 90th anniversary calendar retraces the steps of this enduring gospel-focused ministry.

Those who grew up listening long ago will revel in the historic images of First Mate Bob, Paul Evans, Ray Ortlund, Charles Morris, and the Haven Quartet. Newer listeners and readers will gain context for how the Lord has worked — and continues to work! — throughout this 90-year history.
