During Covid lockdowns in 2020, many people turned to creative projects at home. While some baked sourdough bread, remodeled their bathrooms, or picked up knitting, Shane and Shane began recording vintage worship songs with a guitar and several household items—a sheet of paper became a snare drum, a guitar case became a base drum.
The result of this homespun passion project became the album Vintage. Far from sounding “homemade,” the process of recording to mixing to listening is quite extraordinary. The videos below utilize split screens to demonstrate what it took to meticulously bring these complex praise songs to life … one element at a time.
