“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”

Psalm 51:12
Do you long for joy—real, almost-unexplainable joy—no matter what is going on in the world? The world can offer us a measure of joy, but it quickly disappears when trouble shows up. The U.S. Declaration of Independence states that “the pursuit of happiness” is one of our unalienable rights, endowed in us by the Creator. But there is only one source of true joy, joy that is available to us as we live in an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

When we believe in Jesus as our personal Savior, He comes to live in us through His Holy Spirit. From that moment on, we are cleansed and made holy. As we begin to learn and obey the Word of God, our hearts and minds change. God works in and through us to be a witness to the world of His great love for them. The joy of His salvation in us becomes evident.

If you have never asked Him to forgive your sin and come to live in your heart, consider doing so today. You too can experience the joy that only God can give. It is a joy that absolutely nothing can take away.
