"But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds."
(PSALM 73:28)

Psalm 95:1-7
If ever there was anything I was certain of, it is that it’s good to be near to God. We know this nearness through small glimpses of it in daily life: a baby’s calmed mood when the mother is near, the relief of a young child in trouble at school when dad is nearby to take up his cause, the peace that floods over a tragic event when a caring pastor is near. All of these and more point us to the most blessed nearness we will ever know – in heaven one day with Jesus.

How do we move near to God now as life seems to crush us with its weight? Talk to Him. Pray! Think of how a parent longs for the child to tell what’s on his/her mind and to seek the parent’s help. Read of Him. Study! The Bible is so rich in its word of hope for you that you will find it speaking to you in fresh ways even through passages you’ve known of since childhood. Tell of Him. Shout! It is a high calling and great privilege to tell the story of salvation in Christ in all the remaining days I have breath. You have that
privilege, too!
