“Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

Hebrews 11:6
At times I have been asked to be with a friend, to help when someone is in a fix, or to lend a hand for a task that needs to be done. It seems like those situations come when I am feeling tired or preoccupied. I don’t want to go. Yet when I do, the Lord blesses me immensely. He rewards me every time with a sense of His presence and a joy in being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Jesus is always inviting us to come and be with Him. But how often do we feel tired or preoccupied, encumbered and stressed by urgent, pressing needs? How often do we think of our inadequacy and avoid Him altogether? These are the times we need Him most. He told us plainly to “Come, … all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

How do we come to Him? By an instant act of our will—believing that Jesus Christ is who He claims to be: the Son of God, the Savior of the world. He offers far more than a miracle lift from our troubles and cares. He offers Himself, for He is the reward of those who come to Him believingly.
