"If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith."
(1 CORINTHIANS 15:13-14)

1 Corinthians 15:12-20
Many people today have trouble believing in a bodily resurrection just as Greek communities in Roman times did. All sorts of theories and explanations were posed to “prove” that Jesus Christ could not have risen from the dead (see Matthew 28:11-15). Even today Christ’s bodily resurrection remains a stumbling block for many in coming to faith. Yet Paul says we must believe in it or our faith is useless.

The resurrection of Christ is the centerpiece of the Christian faith. It’s what our faith hinges on. All who believe in Him will be raised one day, too. The bodily resurrection is important not just because it proved Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but also (and much more!) it proved that we would live again just like Him. If there is no resurrection at all, then Christ wasn’t raised. If Christ wasn’t raised, then we won’t be either.

The Christian faith is about new life in Christ. It is not about simply being a better person by following good teaching. Our faith in Christ makes us new creations.
