"Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant,
and everything in them. Then all the trees of
the forest will sing for joy."
(PSALM 96:11-12)

Psalm 96
I know a dear woman in her 90s who plays the piano for worship time on Sunday mornings at her church. Her love of music began as a small child and grew into teaching piano, holding recitals and helping others rejoice in the Lord through music in various ways. Her life has been filled with nearly constant rejoicing!

The writer of Psalm 96 is simply overflowing with praise for the Lord. Do you read a psalm like this and feel a stirring in your heart also? The psalmist declares, “Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise” (v. 4). He writes, “Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness” (v. 9). And again, “They will sing before the LORD, for he comes”
(v. 13). Try going through your day voicing praise for your Creator and Lord. Take note of His goodness at the breakfast table, on the way to work, at the grocery store, at home in the evening.

Along with the psalmist and other faithful Christians throughout time or whom you may know, we have something marvelous to rejoice about. His name is Jesus!
