"The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads."
(REVELATION 22:3-4)

Revelation 22:1-5
Names are an important part of human awareness. It is said that babies can recognize their own names between two and four months of age. The first word a child learns to write is usually his name. It identifies a person with his family and heritage.

Names are important to God also. He is very jealous of the use of His own name. Many names in the Bible have meanings related to what would happen in a person’s life. God gave some people specific names like “Jesus” and “John.”

Someday God will use His name as an object lesson. In the Book of Revelation He says that His servants will have His name written on their foreheads. His name will be a continual, visual object lesson declaring that we belong to Him.

Names today can be an honor or dishonor. Millions of people are even named after Jesus. But very few babies are named Adolf anymore. In God’s new kingdom, we will never dishonor the name He writes on us. He will remake our character and guarantee that those who carry His name carry His holiness as well.
