"And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother."
(1 JOHN 4:21)

1 John 4:7-21
The Apostle Paul addressed the believers in Philippi as God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi (1:1). How true! We are, indeed, citizens of heaven but also citizens on the earth. We must be careful that we do not flee from our obligation to serve in the kingdoms of
this world.

Jesus encouraged His followers to witness to the goodness of God in the kingdoms that are about to pass away by serving the outcasts, healing the sick, binding up the wounds that Satan inflicts. By doing such deeds of love, the followers of Jesus reveal the love of the Father in heaven that seeks to save that which is lost.

While serving God in the midst of the kingdoms of this world, the citizens of the kingdom of heaven lovingly extend an invitation to all to come to Jesus, believe in Him and so enter into the glorious kingdom of heaven. It is God’s plan that those in His kingdom rub shoulders with those around us, working to show God’s boundless love. In this way the kingdom expands and encircles the earth.
