"...joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints
in the kingdom of light."
(COLOSSIANS 1:12)

Colossians 1:9-14
God’s kingdom is a kingdom of light. This is great news… if we have nothing to hide. Jesus illustrated this in one of His many parables about the kingdom of heaven.

He told how people do not “light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone” (Matthew 5:15). His light may be dimmed for a while, but the shade will eventually be removed so that the light shines brightly. What will be revealed? God knows, and, to some extent, so do we.

If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin (see 1 John 1). Can we possibly live with nothing hidden? Absolutely, because the blood of Christ goes on removing all our sin, if we repent and receive God’s forgiveness. As children of light in the kingdom of light, we will only find misery and confusion walking in darkness, hiding things that we know displease God. Walk, instead, with the One who is your Light and your Salvation.
