“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."Colossians 3:17
We followers of Jesus Christ carry a deeper namesake with us. Paul wrote to the Colossian believers—calling them chosen people, holy and dearly loved—instructing them on how they were to conduct themselves as God’s children. His words are for us, too. Putting on the clothes of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience helps us reflect the image of our heavenly Father.
The world is filled with evil. Everywhere there are displays of the likeness of the devil. But Jesus came to break the power of Satan and to set free all those who are called by His name. For His name’s sake, lift Him high!
“That in heaven He may meet me,/ I would be like Jesus;/ That His words ‘Well done’ may greet me,/ I would be like Jesus.” (James Rowe,1865-1933)
