"A man's steps are directed by the Lord."
(PROVERBS 20:24)

Proverbs 21:1-3
Who would have stopped for a second look at a young son shepherding in the fields when Jesse had seven older, handsome sons who appeared likely candidates to become Israel’s king? The prophet Samuel had an eye for the outward appearance, but God looked at the hearts and rejected the seven brothers. When David was brought in from the field, the Lord directed Samuel to anoint him as the one chosen for the throne.

We can trust God, not as a last resort, but as our ever-faithful One. He promises to guide us into the plan He has for us, whether we are young or old, single or married, wealthy or poor.
He directs our steps; He knows the end from
the beginning.

David learned firsthand the reality of God’s promise, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go” and himself wrote these words about his Lord in what we know as Psalm 32:8. Trust in the steps of the One who sent His Son, an unlikely looking King, to be the Savior of the world, giving His life so that we might step closely with Him.
