“In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

1 Peter 3:15
Contributed by Michal in the Czech Republic: During the past year, through an International Needs program in partnership with the local and state schools, I and approximately 30 IN volunteers interact with ninth-graders. We take them through a series titled “The World Religions and Sects.” Each year as we go through the series, I am provided opportunities to share the gospel, explain the basics of Christianity, and speak about Jesus to nearly every 14-year-old in my hometown!

The highlight of the program is when the students share their personal experiences and ask us questions about our Christian faith. This always opens doors to sharing the gospel. It’s like the opening Paul was given in Athens in Acts 17.

This year, many of the students shared and asked questions about the spiritual world. These were questions that no one else in their lives talks to them about! After the series ended, we offered a Bible to each student, and over half of them accepted it. It is a joy and a privilege to share the reason for the hope we have in Christ Jesus.
