“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.”

Psalm 143:8
If you’re old enough to recall using rolls of film for cameras, then you may remember the Kodak Company’s slogan about capturing “Kodak moments” in photographs. Those are perfect times when everything aligns for a while to be truly wonderful. I remember my eldest daughter’s wedding as a “Kodak moment.” It was an eastern Virginia outdoor ceremony in April with the beautiful bride and wedding party. The whole day was stunning with comfortable temperatures, blue skies, sunshine, and no bugs. The day could not have been more perfect.
But life is so uneven! Our “Kodak moments” are exceptions. Most of the time we face and deal with sin pressing in around us, enemies pursuing us, and spirits growing faint.
God’s unfailing love does not last only a moment. Our Lord hears our prayers and lifts our souls. He rescues us and leads us on level ground. His face is not hidden from us. The preservation of our lives in Christ is secure. Because of His amazing grace for this life and for eternity, rain and clouds simply cannot enter.
