“For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

Deuteronomy 20:4
Though nations are engaged in military battles right now, war still feels somewhat far off to most of us. However, God’s word tells us “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers … of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).

In The Invisible War (2005), writer Chip Ingram says, “A cosmic conflict is raging and it has eternal implications. The souls of men and women, of little boys and girls, of people of every nationality and color and language all over the planet are at stake. The enemy seeks to blind us all to the truth, to dull our souls and ruin our lives.”

Spiritual warfare is a reality, but we know that God is with us. He was with Moses in every battle he’d lead God’s people through. He is with us in our battles, too—those fought within ourselves and against the forces of evil.

Easter Sunday was just a few days ago. Don’t let the marvel of our risen Savior fade. Jesus, our champion, is with us through His Holy Spirit so that we can resist the devil.
