“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
2 Timothy 3:16
We gazed at the tomb of Cyrus the Great until our guide said it was time to leave. As we walked towards our car after this final stop in a long journey, we marveled at how we had visited nearly every known site described in Scripture. Traveling in the Bible lands is unlike any other journey. To stand where prophets proclaimed God’s Word, where Jesus taught beside the Sea of Galilee, or where our Lord gave His life in Jerusalem is deeply moving. The stones, hills, and waters remind us that Scripture is not myth or legend but is made up of real people and events in real places.
Walking these paths strengthens faith as the Bible comes alive before our eyes. It changes from black and white to color. We see that every word is God-breathed, trustworthy, and true.
It is even more amazing to know that the God who worked in these places is the same God who walks with us today. Even if you never travel in the Holy Land, you see that through His Spirit and His Word, His presence is as real at home as it is on those ancient paths.
