“Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.”

Revelation 21:3
While our recent Easter holiday celebrations have focused on Christ, the cross, and the empty tomb, we must not forget He is coming again. One day we who believe in Him will be in His presence for all eternity. God with us, forever! John speaks to our hearts in Revelation: “Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near” (1:3).

Eternity with God means no tears, grief, pain, or death; He’ll make all things new. The older I get, the more my thoughts wander to the glories that await me in heaven. Of course, like Paul writes of in Philippians 1:21-26, I want to keep serving Jesus here, but I also long for my heavenly home.

When we turn our lives over to Jesus Christ, He re-creates us, preparing us for eternity with Him. None of us knows when that day will be. We have been told what we need to know, that “Behold, I am coming soon” (Revelation 22:12)! Since His promises never, ever fail, we can be sure of this one, too.
