“All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.”

John 16:15
I have been blessed to have a mother still alive and alert well into her 90s. Last spring, we taught her how to use the word processing program on her computer and asked her to document all that she could remember about her life. Through her writing she revealed her thoughts, telling of events and people about whom my siblings and I never knew. We, her children and grandchildren, not only have her DNA passed along through us, but we also now have her “living words.” What a gift!
Jesus came in person to reveal God’s redemption story to us. Hebrews 1:1-3 tells us, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son… the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being.” John 1:18 says, “No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.” God revealed Himself in Jesus, and Christ reveals Himself through His Spirit within us. What a gift, that we have His DNA!
