“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone; behold, the new has come!”

2 Corinthians 5:17
As mentioned yesterday, it is not just that Jesus died for our sins—He removed our guilt before our holy God. Our judge has become our justifier. Does this mean we no longer struggle with sin? By no means! But it does mean that we are new creations.

Think about that. “Creation” is not just a throwaway term. When God spoke the world into existence, He spoke a new creation into being. That image still fills us with wonder. We can at times feel that tickling breeze, almost hear the gentle rustling of leaves in that perfect garden. We’ve marveled at beauty in the created world around us. We have never seen Eden, but we are still in awe of how exquisite it must have been.

Behold your God in His splendor and might— the God who has made all things new! You shimmer with the blameless beauty of that original creation. Remember, the world was created through the Son (see John 1:1-5). Its beauty reflected His own. Romans 8:20.21 tells us creation itself yearns to escape the bonds of its present brokenness in search of that beauty. Now you have been recreated by Him.
