“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”

Psalm 25:4-5
From the playbook, teams design custom game plans for each opponent. It’s what teams use to learn their basic strategies and tactics so everyone “is on the same page” in competition. Although the playbook is not exhaustive, it contains the necessary concepts for a player to function in most situations. Occasionally, a player needs to operate on his instincts and understanding of the game. This intuition comes from mastering the team’s strategy in the playbook.

While God has not given us a “playbook,” He has given us the Bible so that we can live to honor Him. The more we are intentional about learning of God’s character and how He has worked through others, the more we will be prepared to rely on Him when our faith is tested. Just as a playbook won’t include every possible situation, neither does the Bible delineate every specific situation in your life.

Yet the Bible does contain all we need for life and godliness (see 2 Peter 1:3). Through our study of the Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can know God’s will for us.
