"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High..."
(LUKE 6:35)

Genesis 22:1-14
In the magnificent story of Abraham’s testing and God providing a way, God revealed Himself as Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Will Provide. The same God who provided a ram for the sacrifice so that Abraham would not have to give his only son is the very God who did give His Son Jesus to pay the debt for our sin. He provided a way.

Knowing the great sacrifice that was made for us, would we not want to live in light of that? Wouldn’t it trickle down into our lives even with how we approach lending to others? For if He truly is The Lord Who Provides, He will surely provide for us when we give to others. Since the ultimate provision was already made for us in Jesus, we can trust Him to meet our needs.

Many times during my incarceration someone asked me for a stamp or can of tuna or some other item, and it was my last one. Each time I gave the item away, I marveled to watch how someone would come to my cell and replenish my stock. God provides for us, carrying us through even when we lend and receive nothing back.
