“This is what the LORD says: ‘In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you.’”

Isaiah 49:8a
“Consecrate the fiftieth year…. It shall be a jubilee for you; each one of you is to return to his family property and each to his own clan” (Leviticus 25:10). Jubilee foreshadowed Israel’s future release and return in the day of salvation.

Then, in Jesus, God came down, opening the way to return to Him. Jesus is our Jubilee! Referring to our Isaiah 49 passage, Paul announced, “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2b).

If today is the “day of salvation,” there is urgency for me to share the gospel as long as I have breath. Around this time of year, hearts may be open to hearing and believing the true story of how God came down to us as a newborn baby. But the message doesn’t stop there. It goes all the way to the cross. “God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself…. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20, NLT). Let the Jubilee begin!
