“I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.”

Acts 10:34-35
God uses an endless variety of means to bring an endless variety of people near to Him. The multiple threads of our lives as believers are stitched together to make a beautiful tapestry. He shows no favoritism, welcoming into His open arms all who come to Him: the once-devoted terrorist, the little child who sang of Jesus as soon as she could speak, the former drug addict, the young man choosing to go into ministry for his life’s work, the complacent atheist who formerly saw no need for God. Every diverse thread becomes part of a work of art through the grace of Jesus Christ.

Whether you’ve just become a Christian, are thinking about it now, or have always been a believer, every follower of Jesus must consider the cost. In fact, when we begin to commit our lives to Christ, that is when the hard part begins. Many figures from the Bible testify to this; just look at the life of Paul.

Yet no cost was ever paid so dearly by anyone as when Jesus died for our sins to make us His own. Count His cost, and come to Him.
