2 Timothy 4:16-18
Moments after our daughter was born 18 years ago, she was put on life support. During that difficult time, a friend shared with us that God’s grace is like manna, which He provided to the Israelites in the wilderness—just enough for each day. When our baby girl struggled to live, we saw that, and we have seen it again since my stroke.
Biblical counselor and author David Powlison beautifully describes it: “God will surprise you. He will make you stop. You will struggle. He will bring you up short. You will hurt. He will take His time. You will grow in faith and love. He will deeply delight in you. You will find the process harder than you ever imagined—and better… No matter how many times you have heard it… no matter how well you can say it, God’s answer will come to mean something better than you could ever imagine.”
Our daughter was soon fine and was sent home from the hospital with us. God’s grace, like manna, has come faithfully into her life and mine for years. Watch and see His grace in your life, too.
