“There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”

Psalm 19:3-4
When members of our family would hear the word “vacation,” visions of being at the beach came to mind. Now that our children are grown, my husband and I still carry this same notion when we think of getting away.

There, it’s as if the voice of God can be heard in the roar of the mighty ocean. The brilliant sun and soft breezes speak clearly of His power. The dolphins at play, the sandpipers rushing around, the shells washing up on shore all declare God’s beautiful design. The day ends with the full moon appearing on the horizon and the stars decorating the sky. And I—an ordinary person on an average day—feel the nearness of the Creator of the universe.

Is there a place you know like this? David wrote in the Psalms that everyone can hear God’s voice because in His creation there is no language barrier. Seeing the glory of God in the heavens brought him into deep worship and humility in view of God’s greatness. The sights, smells, tastes, sounds, and touches of creation all point us to our holy, glorious Creator.
