“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.”

Deuteronomy 11:18
Each month I receive a magazine that tells the stories of believers worldwide who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus. Many of these men, women, and children willingly give up everything just so they can read and study God’s Holy Word. They understand that His love is better than life, and they cling to their Father’s words as their source and supply. Like the apostle Peter, they realize, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68). I’d like to seek as ardently after Jesus, and hide the words of Scripture well in my heart.

Today you and I have been given a glorious invitation—to approach with confidence the throne of grace of the one true God. We have that confidence because of Jesus Christ! He promises that we will find Him when we seek Him with all our heart.

As we draw close to God this month through His Word, let’s pray for the Holy Spirit to enable us to hide it in the depths of our souls. May we see the Word as a precious treasure worth laying up in our minds and hearts.
