“Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.”

Psalm 105:4-5
For several years now I’ve taken a five-day hiking trip with the same group of friends. We’re passionate about the wilderness and love to hike, camp, and fish together. We’ve made a tradition of talking about our adventures as we have dinner around the campfire, sharing with each other the highlights of our day. We tell the stories of the fish we caught (and missed), the day hikes we took, and what we discovered. It’s a time of laughter and remembering why we love getting out in nature.

The psalmist is calling the people to consider their God and “remember the wonders he has done.” In doing this for the next 38 verses, he emphasizes that even more important than their remembering God is that He remembers them (vv. 8, 42). He is their covenant God who promises to care for His people.

You and I see the ultimate expression of this in the life of Christ. Through the work of Jesus, we see God loving, protecting, and providing for us. Think back and recount all the goodness you have known at His hand through the years.
