“And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly.”

Colossians 4:3-4
Paul asks for prayer, strength, and the opportunity to do God’s work. To proclaim Christ was his passion, and prayer was the key. One version of Colossians 4:2 says, “Persevere in prayer. Be vigilant in your prayer.” Paul was always committed to proclaiming Christ—to Jews and Gentiles in the marketplace, in prison, in military service, before kings and officials, on ships, in churches. How Paul loved Jesus, and couldn’t stop making Him known in person and in letters!

When we put our trust in Jesus, we are kept in the grip of His love. Tell others about it! Let’s proclaim Him to family, neighbors, doctors, classmates, police officers, strangers. Share the good news that you know is true with those you work with, enjoy meals with, play golf with, fellowship with, and work with. Let’s connect however we can—in person, by phone, through texting, via email, etc.

Tell your story! Truly it is the great story of God’s love and redemption worked out in your life. Along with Paul you can say, “We proclaim him” (Colossians 1:28).
