“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.”

Romans 1:16
Two college roommates were discussing their religious beliefs. The Christian agreed to read the Koran, and the Muslim agreed to read the Bible. One evening the Muslim burst into the room and shouted, “You deceived me!”

“What are you talking about?” the believer asked.

His friend opened the Bible and said, “I’ve been reading this, like you told me, and I just read that the Word is living and active! You knew all along that the Bible contained God’s power and that the Koran is only an ordinary book. I never had a chance!” He became a Christian and gave his life to Jesus (from Evangelism for the Fainthearted, 2000).

Ghandi knew of the Bible’s power: “You Christians have in your keeping a document with enough dynamite in it to blow the whole of civilization to bits; to turn society upside down; to bring peace to this war-torn world. But you read it as if it were just good literature, and nothing else.”

Remember, people are converted to Jesus or have faith renewed, not so much because of you, but because of the power of the gospel.
