“The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.”

John 1:41-42
Often in life it is the one-on-one times with people that have a deep impact on us. When we look at the individual connections Jesus took time for while He was on earth, we see the importance of investing in others’ lives. And most importantly, we realize that our Savior has reached personally into our own lives.

In today’s passage we read of Andrew who, after spending the day with Jesus, immediately and enthusiastically sought his brother Peter and brought him to the Savior. The impact of Christ in both of their lives made them world-changers. The Bible records that Andrew introduced others to Jesus also (like the boy with five loaves and two fish in John 6:8-9 and some inquiring Greeks mentioned in John 12:20-22).

I was part of a gospel musical group 52 years ago. Sometimes we went out into the community to talk with people one-on-one about Jesus. We shared the good news of salvation with a young man named Dan who eventually became our drummer and continues to this day walking with the Lord and sharing his faith.
