“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.’”

Romans 8:18
Because of sin, shame exists in our imperfect world, and it is multifaceted. I feel ashamed when my sin is revealed. My cheeks burned red hot when I accidentally revealed someone’s surprise party. I’ve regretted some of the words I’ve used with others that cannot be taken back. We are mocked for being Christians.

But God promises that He will replace your shame with His glory.

Jesus secured this for us at the cross. What looked like shame to the world was declared by God to be the most honorable act imaginable. Jesus’ resurrection proves it.

Jesus did this to glorify His Father, and so that He could share His glory with us. When you put your trust in Jesus, you’re united to Him. He paid your debt and gives you everything of His. His righteousness clothes you, and His Spirit of glory crowns you. Your shame has been replaced with His glory. Amazing!

Paul says that the suffering you endure now isn’t worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in you. So don’t hide, but honor Jesus. And know that He is coming soon.
