“Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.”

Isaiah 55:3
Sometimes I have doubted God’s love. Do you ever consider your latest failure and wonder how God can still love you? When I sin yet again—yell at my son, boast about myself, indulge a lustful thought—I question if God’s love will withstand it.

God answers this question directly and personally.

He made a covenant (something like a marriage vow) with King David. He swore to David that, although He would discipline him and his sons, He would never take His love from them. And God fulfilled His every word.

Did you know that God made this same promise to you? Isaiah 53 reveals that the Messiah would die for His people’s sin. Chapter 54 shows that His death resulted in their restored honor. Chapter 55 says this good news is for everyone. God calls all people everywhere—including us—to believe in what Jesus has done for salvation.

To those who come to Him in faith, God makes a New Covenant, an everlasting vow that He loves you with the same faithful love He swore to David. You can be assured God will never stop loving you.
