“Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her. When the Queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built … she was overwhelmed.”
1 Kings 10:3-5
God blessed King Solomon with great wisdom and wealth as a result of his humble prayer (see 1 Kings 3). God was pleased, and Solomon was abundantly blessed. The queen of Sheba (Sheba is modern day Yemen) observed his extreme wealth. She realized Solomon’s greatness and giftedness. So she came to find answers to the tough questions that “she had on her mind” (v. 2). Solomon could answer them all! The queen acknowledged, “Praise be to the LORD your God, who has delighted in you” (v. 9). It’s not known if her spiritual life changed as Solomon spoke, but he was faithful to God and in this way helped point other nations to Jehovah, the One true God.
God desires to infuse Himself into our lives. His love, truth, power, and authority become evident. When the queen spoke one-on-one with Solomon, she saw God’s work in his life.
Think about those God has brought to you. When they spend time with you, do they see that Jesus has been working in your life? Ask God for the wisdom to answer their questions and point them to Him.
