“Then Philip began with the very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.”

Acts 8:35
When an angel of the Lord prompted Philip to go over to the chariot of an Ethiopian eunuch, a life was about to be dramatically changed. Philip shared the good news of Jesus with him, and the man responded in faith. Straightaway they found water so that he could be baptized. What a great story of a believer sharing one-on-one with a complete stranger!

It reminds me of when a police officer friend of mine had stopped a young female driver. He wrote her a warning ticket but also gave her some spiritual guidance and recommended a church where she might attend. From his squad car I was listening over the police radio and praying.

Several months later, again on patrol and finishing a routine traffic stop, we saw another vehicle pull up. My friend approached the second vehicle, and the driver turned out to be the young woman he had encountered earlier. “I recognized you,” she told him, “and wanted to say thank you for your patience and help. I found the church, have new friends there, and have committed my life to Christ.”
