“I am convinced that neither death nor life … nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39
Look and be amazed at how God’s very words, given to us in the Bible, speak into the uncertainties and storms of our lives.
I say to Him, “Lord, how can You truly love someone like me?”
He responds, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with lovingkindness”(Jeremiah 31:3).
“Lord, why would You draw me to You?”
He tells me that He takes great delight in me and that He rejoices over me (see Zephaniah 3:17); He tells me I am His (see Psalm 100:3).
“But Lord,” I protest, “How can You accept me? What about my weaknesses, my constant stumbling into sin, my wavering faith? Even I wouldn’t want me!”
He answers me, “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed” (Isaiah 54:10).
Doubts press in: “Is there anything that could cut me off from Your love, Lord?”
He overrides my doubts with His perfect assurance from Lamentations 3:22 that His love and compassions never fail; in fact, they are new to me every single morning.
