“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

John 14:27
“Who would have thought two weeks ago that we would have heard the speech we did, delivered down the street three nights ago? This week our nation’s President has told us that we are at war… a very different kind of war whose rules are all different, …a kind which leaves us longing for the old kind of war. We’re filled with anxiety and fear. Friend, are you longing for peace? How do you get that inner peace? How do you get that, in which possessing, you seem to possess all?

“To answer this we go to the Bible, right to the heart of the Old Testament, to the book of Psalms. Psalm 4 instructs us to depend on God, accept God’s truth, and enjoy God, experiencing His joy and peace.

“As God’s children, we approach God in prayer with our needs and for relief from distress. …Troubles will either drive us from God or drive us to Him. They cause us to depend on Him more and more. …Also, we must accept God’s Word and will. Do not reject Him…. Finally, to find peace, enjoy God… and experience the fruit of depending on Him alone.”
