“The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”

Psalm 19:8b
I was walking through a densely wooded area late at night while thick clouds covered the moon and darkened my path. I’d forgotten my flashlight, but frequent flashes of lightning provided enough light so that I could find my way to my destination.

Sometimes God’s Word gives light in that way—flashing out in front of us, illuminating the steps we take and the decisions we make.

I read on the iPray app about a young Iranian woman whose growing-up years were filled with trauma and abuse. She struggled with panic attacks, seizures, severe depression, and wanting to end her life. One day, friends in a coffee shop gave her some Christian reading materials. Desperate for help, she read the first story about God and immediately asked Him to bring His light into her soul. She felt darkness leave her room; her sleep was no longer filled with nightmares. She said it was “as if a curtain had been pulled away from in front of my eyes, and the darkness in my heart left.” She is now a young disciple of Christ, growing in her walk with the Lord.
