“Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. … Those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”

Psalm 34:8, 10
I have wanted You, Lord, Your love, Your blessings, Your presence. But I have wanted more: Security in this world, Safety from evil people, Certainty for myself and my loved ones. I have pursued loyal friends, good health, economic well-being.

Can real security come from creaturely comforts? I am learning through the years That I cannot enjoy security In the safe harbor of You When I am also searching for it elsewhere.

Thank You, Lord, for Your grace So that I lack no good thing. Help me look not to material things for my refuge. As I turn away from them, I turn to You alone. “You have made known the path of life; You will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand” (Psalm 16:11).
