“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

John 14:6
One of our grandsons and his friends were in an automobile accident. Another vehicle hit them from behind, causing their car to flip over. The boys were trapped inside until the fire department cut them out of the vehicle. Thankfully, they were wearing seat belts which kept them from serious injury.

There are times in life when something hits us unexpectedly. We don’t see it coming, but it flips our world upside down. We may even be trapped and hanging there for a while. Our lives may be out of balance and our equilibrium may be off for some time. But we can thank God that He has provided us with a “safety belt,” the belt of truth. This truth has a name: Jesus. He holds us securely in our difficult times. He keeps us safe even when our world is a total wreck.

Remember the belt of truth in a world where we’re told truth is relative, where truth is often compromised, where truth even is at times mocked. He who is the way, the truth, and the life holds you steady and secure. Stand firm in Jesus, your belt of truth.
