“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.”

Proverbs 16:9

I like to have a plan. It gives me a sense of security and control. But I have learned to also anticipate some interruptions. I start my day offering it to God to do with as He wishes. I move into my day, aware that He may choose to interrupt my plans at any moment. I can see the hand of God in operation during those times. I believe that God has used the interruptions in my life far more than He has used my plans.

Isn’t that what happened to Moses? There he was tending his sheep, safe from Egypt and far away from the fear of being brought to justice for the sins of his youth. Suddenly, there was a burning bush, and Moses’ life was changed dramatically from that moment on. I’m sure when he awakened that morning, the last thing on his mind was meeting God in this way!

This sort of situation may have come to you from time to time. Right in the middle of your plans, there is an intrusion, and sometimes it is life-altering. God will use these unexpected interruptions to bring unimaginable blessings and joy to you.
