“You are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.’”

Acts 3:25
The angel of Advent appeared to lowly shepherds on a hillside in Bethlehem. But the message of Christmas is not exclusively for the poor; nor is it only for the rich. It reaches into the lives of computer programmers and factory workers, CEOs and movie stars, those in the unemployment line or retirement home, people well or ill. The angel’s announcement is for men and women, young and old, weak and strong, the incarcerated and the free. The angel announced good news of great joy that would be for all the people.

We often categorize people based on race, class, sex, nationality, education, or economic status. But what we have in common is more important than what makes us different. Each and every one of us was created in God’s image, with inherent worth and significance. Yet we are also by nature separated from Him because of sin.

The beautiful message of Christmas is that Jesus came to restore us to a right relationship with God, and His salvation is offered without distinction. Come and experience His great joy!
