“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all.”

1 Timothy 2:5-6
Even within the church today, some teach that Jesus is one of many possible ways to be made right with God. They insist that the way to salvation does not necessarily have to be only through Jesus. But Jesus Himself was clear that He is the only way to being right with God, saying that nobody comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). This truth is essential for His gospel role. He “is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature and upholds the universe by his power” (Hebrews 1:3).

During His ministry, Jesus claimed the promises of Scripture bore witness to Him as the source of eternal life (John 5:39). And, after His resurrection, in what must have been the most wonderful expositional sermon ever given, Jesus shared with the men from Emmaus how He fit into the good news of Scripture: “Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself” (Luke 24:27).

We are made right with God through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
