“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning—the sixth day.”

Genesis 1:31
Imagine you’re on your vacation of a lifetime. You’re about to relax on a beautiful island paradise. While soaking in the sun on the beach, the last thing you expect is the tsunami headed your way.
God made Earth like an island paradise in this vast universe, intending Adam and Eve to love life with Him. Before they disobeyed and brought sin into the world, daily life was a picture of perfect unity with God and each other. There was no pain, no conflict, no illness, and no death. Then the tsunami of sin came, and life was changed forever. Ever since then, our expectations in life have been turned upside down.
Maybe you’re facing the storms of unemployment, broken relationships, or sudden loss. What can you do when paradise turns to disaster? Turn to the Lord, the only One who can carry you through the hurricanes of life. Though the first sin brought grave consequences, God gave the promise of deliverance through a Savior. Jesus promises to be with you (see Matthew 28:20), even in the eye of life’s storms.
