"...who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion..."
After four days of seeing my young bride sick in bed, this new husband was getting impatient. “What is it going to take for her to get better?” I began picturing long nights in a hospital. Would she ever recover? I am thankful that Jesus never asks that of His Bride. While Rachel, of course, recovered, we, as the Church, stay sick. Sin grips us and we return to it, over and over. But patiently He loves us still.
Christ lived perfectly and died for His Church because He knew her disease was chronic. His love promises to transform us and one day – when He returns – we will be “in health.” But for now we remain “in sickness.” Yet His pursuing love never leaves us.
IT IS OUR NEEDINESS THAT QUALIFIES US TO RECEIVE CHRIST'S GRACE. "IT IS NOT THE HEALTHY WHO NEED A DOCTOR, BUT THE SICK"
