“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Hebrews 11:6
We all place faith in things of this world. We put our faith in the pilot of the plane who will fly us across the country. We put faith in exercise routines that will keep our hearts healthy. We put faith in our financial investments, trusting they’ll see us through paying the bills and perhaps retiring one day. But we always know deep down that these things could fail at any time. Praise God He has given us a heart of faith in Him, the only source of true confidence, the only unfailingly trustworthy One.

When we choose to trust Jesus—to believe He is our Savior and to know He’ll do what He says He will do—we are pledging to be true to Him. Our commitment will be tested. Doubts may arise. But we can look to a great crowd of witnesses reaching back to the beginning of time. Throughout the Bible and throughout history we learn of specific people whose faith held firm against a backdrop of seemingly impossible odds. And behind that dark backdrop was always our True and Ever-Faithful Lord.

Let your heart of faith be for Jesus alone.
