“Bring out every kind of living creature … —the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground— so that they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number upon it.”

Genesis 8:17
As the world descended into darkness, God was still on the throne. Even as sin and rebellion grew, God’s promises would not be thwarted. By grace, He warned Noah of the storm to come, and by faith, Noah built an ark which God used to preserve him and his family in the flood. This is what comes for those who trust in the Lord; there is salvation amidst His judgment.

Imagine what it must have been like for Noah and his wife along with their children, residing in that ship afloat on what felt like an endless sea. God’s judgment had prevailed, but what of His salvation? Eventually, the ark landed on dry ground and civilization began anew. In God’s unfathomable power, He not only sustains His people in their hour of need, but He delivers them, too.

In the present hour, you might feel overwhelmed by the weight of sin all around you as well as in your own heart. God’s deliverance in Jesus is your hope. Will you trust Him? If He can deliver Noah through a flood, what is it about your present storm that could possibly thwart Him?
